The long-running Air-King line has traditionally been a dark horse among Rolex’s sporty watches. The Swiss giant’s unique take on the three-handed pilot’s watch has always had a fan base but lacked the cultural ubiquity of many of its stablemates. As part of its new 2022 offering, Rolex hopes to address this ongoing conundrum by overhauling the Air-King to give it a bolder, more functional personality that should help set it apart from many of its peers on the wrist. The new replica Rolex Air-King 126900 has a sportier design than its predecessor while improving its ability to serve as a pilot’s watch. 
Although the same size as the outgoing Air-King, i.e. 40 mm wide, the new Rolex Air-King’s Oyster steel case has been seriously reshaped. Gone are the narrow lugs, the unprotected pillbox-style crown, and the mildly rounded case profile of the previous model. In their place is a more muscular, squared-off interpretation of the modern Oyster case, with wider lugs, sharply polished vertical case sides, and a thicker, fluted crown design. Of course, the real visual signature of this new case design is its crown escutcheon, which follows the same concept of sharp outflanking as the modern Submariner or GMT-Master II. Nonetheless, these escutcheons are noticeably thinner in overall width than the Submariner, giving the case its own personality in the image between the brand’s aggressive sports watch designs and lighter sports models like the Explorer. Several features of the previous Air-King case carry over into the new design, most notably the wide, sloping polished bezel, but overall the new case layout effectively reinvents these existing elements in the image. Rolex considers the new Air-King case to be water-resistant to 100 meters.
Rolex’s changes to the dial of the new Air-King are more subtle than the case overhaul but are geared towards practicality and readability. The modern Air-King’s glossy black dial, Mercedes hands, and striking green seconds hand are carried over from the outgoing model, as are the distinctive modernist printed Arabic minute numerals. However, for the applied hour numerals at 3, 6, and 9 o’clock, fake Rolex has abandoned the fully polished white gold execution of previous models and instead added a revised version of the brand’s proprietary Chromalight luminescent to these white gold elements. Rolex claims that this new formula will make the Air-King far more readable in low light than its predecessors.
Rolex powers the new Air-King with its manufacturer’s automatic caliber 3230, which was introduced in 2020 and has become the brand’s premier choice for non-dated three-hand models and features innovative components such as the brand’s anti-magnetic Chronergy escapement.
